Abhi tak Tejas MK1A ki pehli delivery nahi ho saki, forget building a Kaveri powrred Tejas in 30 months. I remember Alpha Defense claiming that if Tejas Mk1A first delivery was not made by End of March 2024, there will be serious consequences. Its already July 2024, and no Tejas Mk1A delivery accepted by the Indian Airforce. No consequences what so ever.. Of course Alpha Defense will blather on about how production is going on and a delay of a month or 2 is no big deal. But why isn't Indian Airforce accepting these planes? Even after 3 months of first flight, the client refuses to accrpt the plane! There is something seriously wrong with HAL.

Is it a very thoughtful move to test an engine in a single engine aircraft?! Although I am optimistic about the results, any mishap could dent the service record of LCA in already competitive export market!!!

Has the Kaveri engine been tested along with an afterburner?? There was an article about Kaveri being dry tested on a Russian IL 76 aircraft in 2023 and it over delivered by generating 48.5 KN. This is comparable to the GE F404IN dry thrust of 48.9KN. I think the wet test with the afterburner is yet to be done and in all likelihood will produce the necessary 85KN given the modifications and weight reduction measures being introduced by GTRE
